🎶 ALBUM VAULT #230 🎶
Staying with Duncan.
Duncan Sheik – Humming — 8/10
💿 Plex Server FLAC
This one came out in 1998, and it feels a little darker and more atmospheric than his debut. More strings, more mood, and a lot of that quiet Duncan Sheik thing that I love.
“In Between” is one of my favorites here. Great opener and just a beautiful song.
“Bite Your Tongue” is the other one I really love. That melody, that voice… yep.
“Rubbed Out,” “Alibi,” “That Says It All” and “A Body Goes Down” are all really strong too, and the album keeps getting more interesting the deeper you go.
Then you get the long closer “Nichiren,” which is nearly 15 minutes and definitely not your normal pop-album ending.
This is not the Duncan album I would hand somebody first.
But if you already love his voice and his style?
There is a LOT here to like.
And yeah…
I could still listen to this guy sing forever.
