🎶 ALBUM VAULT #239 🎶
Last act of that all-star night at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago…
Daryl Hall & John Oates – Big Bam Boom — 10/10
💿 Black Vinyl
And THIS was the moment I had been waiting for.
This was my first time ever seeing Hall & Oates live, and I was completely geeked out. These guys were already among my absolute favorites, so when they finally walked onto that stage… yeah, I was that guy. 😂
Big Bam Boom also goes WAY back for me.
It was one of the first records I ever owned. I still remember Santa giving it to me.
Unfortunately, the copy spinning today is NOT that copy.
When I moved out, my mom tossed all my records.
WTF, MOM?? 😂
Man… I miss her.
And what an album.
“Out of Touch” — #1
“Method of Modern Love” — #5
“Some Things Are Better Left Unsaid” — #18
“Possession Obsession” — #30
Then there were the VIDEOS.
“Out of Touch” with the giant drums and oversized Big Bam Boom craziness.
“Method of Modern Love” with Daryl and John running around rooftops and clouds doing completely ridiculous ’80s MTV stuff.
I loved ALL of it.
Huge drums. Synths everywhere. Giant hooks. Daryl’s voice. John doing his thing.
And after seeing AWB and Michael McDonald, I finally got to see Hall & Oates for the first time.
I was geeked out then.
And I’d still be geeked out today.
