🎶 ALBUM VAULT #240 🎶
Happy Sunny and SICKY Wednesday…
Yep. The fall bug got me.
BLAH. 🤧
But the concert journey rolls on…
Night Ranger – Midnight Madness — 10/10
💿 Black Vinyl
I saw Night Ranger at Schaumburg Fest many, many years ago and they put on one HELL of a show.
Those guys could still ROCK IN AMERICA.
See what I did there? 😂
Night Ranger had a ridiculous lineup: Jack Blades, Kelly Keagy, Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson and Alan Fitzgerald. Big guitars, big harmonies, keyboards and exactly the kind of melodic rock the ’80s did so damn well.
And Midnight Madness is THE album.
It hit #15 on the Billboard 200 and went Platinum.
“(You Can Still) Rock in America” — #51
Just crank it.
“When You Close Your Eyes” — #14
Another GREAT Night Ranger song.
And then…
“Sister Christian” — #5.
OMG. What a song.
Written and sung by drummer Kelly Keagy about his younger sister Christine, it became the song Night Ranger will probably be associated with forever. That slow build… then MOTORIN’!
Come on.
The rest of the album is damn good too: “Rumours in the Air,” “Touch of Madness,” “Passion Play,” “Chippin’ Away” and “Let Him Run.”
This is one of those albums where I don’t skip much of anything.
Great album.
Great band.
Great show.
Now somebody bring me some cold medicine. 😂
