🎶 ALBUM VAULT #246 🎶
Back in the office today, Plex fired up, and the concert journey stays with Blues Traveler…
Blues Traveler – Save His Soul — 7/10
💿 Plex Server
I saw Blues Traveler at Ravinia back in the day with my friend Cindy.
Sadly, Cindy has since passed.
It’s funny how these albums bring people right back into your head. You remember the show, the night, who you were with… and suddenly it doesn’t feel that long ago.
So cherish your people. Seriously.
You just never know.
Save His Soul came out in 1993, before Four finally launched Blues Traveler into the mainstream. John Popper, Chan Kinchla, Bobby Sheehan and Brendan Hill were already completely themselves though: blues, rock, jam-band craziness and Popper doing things with a harmonica that should probably require a permit. 😂
And this album has one of my favorite Blues Traveler songs…
“Conquer Me.”
LOVE that song.
Then you’ve got “Love & Greed,” “Go Outside and Drive,” “NY Prophesie,” “Love of My Life,” “Letter from a Friend” and the title track “Save His Soul.”
This isn’t the record that made everybody discover Blues Traveler.
That was coming.
But the band was already there.
And today, listening to it takes me right back to Ravinia…
and Cindy.
