🎶 ALBUM VAULT #222 🎶
HAPPY HUMPER!
Today’s theme…
Oh, you think you can act AND sing? 😂
Jack Wagner – All I Need — 7/10
💿 Original Black Vinyl
First up, Jack Wagner.
Most people knew him as Frisco Jones on General Hospital before they knew him as a singer. Then All I Need came along in 1984 and suddenly the soap guy had a HUGE record.
And I mean huge.
“All I Need” made it all the way to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, stuck behind Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.” It also hit #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. Not bad for Frisco. 😂
The album itself reached #44 on the Billboard 200, and while nothing else here came close to matching the title track, there are some decent mid-’80s pop songs on it.
But let’s be honest…
“All I Need” is THE reason this album is remembered.
Big ballad. Great melody. Peak 1984.
The rest?
Not bad.
Not something I’m going to rave about, but definitely an enjoyable spin.
