🎶 ALBUM VAULT #252 🎶
And finally… we reach the last concert I’ve seen.
At least so far.
Bryan Adams – Roll With The Punches — 6/10
💿 Plex Server
Part two of that night at the Allstate Arena.
Pat Benatar finished her set, and then Bryan Adams came out.
And holy crap…
HE PLAYED. AND PLAYED. AND PLAYED.
What a show.
Absolutely AMAZING.
Roll With The Punches was the new album behind the tour, and I’ll be honest…
This isn’t Reckless Bryan Adams.
It’s not Cuts Like a Knife Bryan Adams.
It’s not Bryan in his absolute heyday.
But it’s also not a bad album.
This was his 16th studio album, and the first full album of new material released on his own Bad Records label.
You’ve got “Roll With the Punches,” “Make Up Your Mind,” “Never Ever Let You Go,” “A Little More Understanding,” “Life Is Beautiful” and “Love Is Stronger Than Hate.”
There are some good Bryan Adams moments in here. The voice is still there. The guitar sound is still there. That straight-ahead rock thing he does is still there.
It just doesn’t have quite the magic of those monster albums from the 80s and 90s.
Still…
The album actually reached #3 in the UK, so there are obviously plenty of people who disagree with my 6. 😂
Not his best.
Not a bad listen.
But the concert?
10/10 ALL DAY.
And with that, my little concert journey through the Album Vault has finally caught up to today.
What a ride.
